Meshell Ndegeocello is considered the spark that ignited New Soul. Since 1993 Meshell has been plowing her own furrow through the ranks of R&B singers with top-model dimensions. A singer with an inimitable voice, Meshell is first and foremost a bass-player, a bass-player with a warm, rich and melodious sound. A sound which merited playing with the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Alanis Morisette and Chaka Khan. Meshell's music and live performances have been a major contribution to the emergence of a multitude of world-famous stars such as D'Angelo, Erikah Badu, Lauryn Hill and more recently Angie.
