The CNC, created by the act of 25 October 1946, is a public administrative organization with a legal entity status and financial autonomy. It operates under the authority of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, and its Managing Director is Véronique Cayla and its Audiovisual Industries Director.


The CNC’s principal responsibilities are:


• Support for the economy of the film, television, video, multimedia and technical industries.

• Regulation.

• The promotion of films and television productions and their broadcasting to all audiences.

• The preservation and enhancement of cinema heritage.

The creation in March 2009 of the Department of Globalization, Development and Partnerships, and the forthcoming creation of the Cultural Agency, represent major reforms for France’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs which is determined to integrate global developments and to be one step ahead in foreseeing, identifying and reacting to the challenges of globalization.

 

Within the Department, the main aim of the Cultural Policy and French Language Directorate is to cultivate spheres of influence in education, culture, medias and cinema.

 

In the television sector, the Ministry is keen to reinforce its partnership with the association of French program broadcasters, hence the financial backing it provides for the work of TV France International and its support for the network of media attachés in France’s foreign embassies.

PROCIREP, the collecting society of television and movie producers, is notably in charge of the distribution of private copy royalties to audiovisual producers and right holders thereof. 25% of the collected amounts have to be allocated to actions financing audiovisual creation.


Within the framework of its actions supporting audiovisual creation, the Television Commission of PROCIREP finances the production and development of documentaries, fiction and animation programs, and events of collective interest such as Le Rendez-Vous.

UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development, is a French government agency supervised by the Ministerfor the Economy, Industry and Employment, the Secretary of State in charge of Foreign Trade and the DGTPE (General Directorate of the Treasury and Economic Policy).


Our role:

 

• Assisting projects in line with companies’ requirements and profiles: This is based on three product categories:Consultancy, Approaching a market, Communicating on a product range

 

• Facilitating the financing of export projects: Increased funding from the French government, making it possible to offer SMEs:Lower prices for key services (trade shows), development of labelling procedures (financing for actions set up by other partners suchas Chambers of Commerce and Industry and trade industry federations). More flexible conditions for using the SIDEX procedure (individual aid for export operations).

 

• Human resources outside France: The V.I.E (the French International Graduate Mobility Programme) offers simple, rapid andflexible human resources solutions to businesses.
