Since 1988, La Huit's catalogue of 200 program hours is broadened every year with another twenty hours of documentary films currently with forays into live recordings of music, dance and theatre. Though on a variety of subjects, the films have in common their desire to reflect upon our contemporary world through the analyses of social issues, history, creation and culture in general. Collaborating with young filmmakers, exploring the direct cinema technique as well as searching for new forms all remain La Huit's priority focal points.

La Huit is also a distribution company (La Huit Distribution) and a postproduction facility (La Huit Postproduction).
La Huit has developed these two sectors with new technology:

A website containing the catalogue, postproduction facilities and the possibility to buy films on-line on video or DVD.
DVD fabrication and distribution through national and international partners.
